What is an MS Champion?

An MS Champion on Howard’s Team is anyone living with multiple sclerosis who courageously embodies the idea that “I may have MS, but MS does not have me.”

What it means to be an MS Champion on Howard’s Team

We are a community dedicated to ending MS forever. Our team is a judgment-free zone where kindness, compassion, and understanding are at our core. We’re here to make life with MS more manageable and enjoyable for everyone until we find a cure. We truly care about and enjoy our members.

We Understand MS

MS is a progressive disease that impacts everyone differently. Because it’s often called the “snowflake disease,” we know that each of us falls on a spectrum—from having no symptoms to having severe physical, mental, or emotional limitations. We understand these challenges and are here to support you wherever you are on your journey.

Get Involved

There are many ways to get involved with Howard’s Team that fit your personal interests and abilities. Your presence alone strengthens our community and spreads awareness.

Here are a few ways to participate:

Events and Social Activities: Join us for bike rides, walks, cornhole tournaments, happy hours, and more. You can participate in team events like “Cocktails for a Cure” or individual fundraisers like wine or beer tastings.
MS Ambassador Program: Share your story, provide feedback, or get involved with MS Society events and advocacy programs.
Fundraising: Help us raise money to support those with MS and fund research.

I am an MS Champion Jersey

In 2016, our MS Champions wanted to expand their connections with other MS Champions. To accomplish this they created the “I am an MS Champion” patch. With the inspiring words, “Champions Rise Up!” our MS Champions can give this patch to any other MS Champion.

Building on the idea of the patch, our MS Champions wanted something that would further identify them as both an MS Champion and a member of Howard’s Team. This led to the creation of the “I am an MS Champion” jersey, which combines the image from the patch with the Howard’s Team signature swirl. In bright red, you can’t miss our MS Champions.
